Onajevwe Akakabota is the Group Head, People Operations at Silverbird Group, where she leads enterprise-wide human capital strategy across the Group’s diverse entertainment, media, communications, and retail subsidiaries. With over 12 years of experience in strategic HR leadership, she has been instrumental in transforming Silverbird’s people function into a performance-driven, values-aligned, and employee-centric powerhouse.

 

She drives strategic initiatives in talent acquisition, leadership development, performance management, and organizational restructuring, directly supporting executive goals and fostering a culture of innovation, inclusion, and operational excellence. Her leadership has delivered measurable results, including the implementation of an emergency health platform for employees, Silverbird’s mystery shopper and quality assurance program, and enterprise-wide culture and performance systems.

 

A multiple-certified HR professional (SHRM-SCP, SPHRi, PHRi, ACIPM), Onajevwe holds an MSc in Human Resources, advanced study in International HR Management with Rome Business School. Recognized with the Outstanding HR Contribution Award at HR Expo Africa, she is also a women empowerment coach, conference speaker, and passionate mentor committed to building inclusive workplaces and preparing the next generation of leaders.
