Funmi Onuma is a transformational leader in West Africa’s entertainment sector, currently serving as General Manager of Silverbird Cinemas West Africa. With over 17 years of progressive experience, including a decade as Country Manager for Ghana, Funmi has led regional cinema expansion, operational restructuring, and customer experience innovation, positioning Silverbird as a dominant force in African entertainment. She pioneered high-impact digital campaigns, midnight cinema operations, and marketing systems that doubled engagement and audience reach.

 

A recipient of Celluloid Junkie’s Top 50 Women in Global Cinema for three consecutive years, she is also an Advisory Board Member of the Africa Film Finance Forum (AFFF), championing sustainable investment in African storytelling. Funmi holds an MBA from the Australian Institute of Business and brings extensive expertise in business strategy, cross-border management, and media development to the Silverbird leadership team.
