Founded by Mr. Ben Murray-Bruce, a renowned businessman, politician, public figure and advocate for the people, founded Silverbird Group in 1980. The company is a leader in innovation, and has earned an international reputation. Silverbird’s Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) brand produced the first and only black African Miss World in 2001, and Silverbird carved a niche as a ground-breaking company by building the first international standard mall and Cineplex in Nigeria, the Silverbird Galleria, which paved the way for other malls in the country.

Silverbird Cinemas

In 2004, The Galleria firmly installed Silverbird Cinemas as a game changer and the de facto leader in the Nigerian leisure and entertainment industry.

We continue to provide Nigerians and expatriates daily releases of blockbuster movies in an environment and ambience that is comparable to, and sometimes arguably better than, the service quality available in developed markets.

The 12-screens/8 VIP lounges Silverbird Entertainment Centre (SEC) in Abuja - West Africa’s largest Cinema complex complete with the international shopping and entertainment experience.

The 5 screen multiplex cinema and lifestyle store in Accra (Ghana) – in conjunction with local partners.

30% of current Screens will be dedicated to showing Nollywood Movies.

Silverbird News 24

Silverbird News 24 is a privately owned indigenous company established by Silverbird Communications Ltd-the owners of Rhythm F.M stations and Stv (both) broadcast entities provide a combination of entertainment, news, and current affairs as part of its programming to a young and vibrant audience.

With the demand for news on the increase, and the fluid nature of news making headlines across Nigeria ,Africa and the rest of the world, the parent company embarked on an expansion of their operations by creating a 24 hour news and current affairs that would dedicate round the clock coverage of events to its viewers in real time.

The dynamic nature of global broadcasting continues to evolve with cutting edge technology and a number of innovations aimed at keeping the news fresh with updates from graphic headlines, to concise story telling aimed at enhancing the dissemination of information (look and feel) and regular updates.

Silverbird Productions Limited is a full service entertainment company operating under the Silverbird Group.The team is made up of knowledgeable and dedicated professionals with over 30 years experience in the entertainment industry comprising Event Management, Beauty Pageant and Concert Promotions.

Silverbird Communications Limited which encompasses both Silverbird Television and our flagship radio station, Rhythm FM, Silverbird Communications operates in six of the ten Nigeria Broadcasting Commission (“NBC”) Zones.

Film Distributions

Silverbird Film Distribution Limited is an independent film distributor of theatrical and non-theatrical films. Established in July 2007, Silverbird Film Distribution Limited has earned a reputation as a trusted partner in the film supply chain services industry.

Silverbird Film Distribution Limited continues to be the resource for some of the most invigorating voices in modern cinema. Our quest is to engage an ever expanding audience with a rich variety of films that range from box office hits to Academy Award winning dramas and comedies.

Silverbird Film Distribution Limited acquires the rights to distribute movies from their studios/producers to the cinemas within their territory. They negotiate the contract terms and assist with publicity for their films. Silverbird Cinema is an exhibitor who exhibits films received from distributors (SBDL being one of them).

Since opening its doors in 2004, Silverbird properties has revolutionized the shopping experience in Nigeria and, indeed, Africa (outside South Africa) by being the pioneers of both an International shopping mall and Cineplex in Nigeria.
